This comes from the Personal Collection of 9/11 First Responder Vito Messana. Messana, a Teamster Boss from Long Island, volunteered at Ground Zero starting on September 11, 2001, and did so each day for the next two weeks. When the Search and Rescue concluded and focus shifted to cleanup, Mr. Messana was asked to stay on, in his capacity as a Teamster Boss, to aid in the overwhelming task. He did so, and worked at the site for over a year.
From time to time, Vito would see something interesting, that was heading for the dump, and keep it as a memento of this time in his life he would never forget. This was found by him at Ground Zero, was in the Towers when they fell and has been in his collection for the last 20+ years. Above, you can see an Associated Press news photo of Mr. Messena at Ground Zero, as well as a New York Post article on 9/11, in which Vito is quoted. This will come with a Letter of Provenance, Hand-Signed by Vito, attesting to these facts. This appears to be in Relic condition, with wear and loss from the tragedy of that day.
